CARO Novice Rally Obedience

Rally Obedience is a fun dog sport where dogs and their handlers navigate an obedience obstacle course that includes heeling on leash, pivots, sits, downs, stands, stays, heeling past distractions, etc. This sport is a great way to teach your dog obedience skills and even compete in CARO Rally Obedience trials. This class is suitable for dogs who are just starting out in Rally and will be learning the Novice Level signs for CARO.

CARO Intermediate/advanced Rally Obedience

CARO Versatility Rally obedience

Start Time: 6:45pm
Dates: April 20, 27, May 4 and 11.
Instructor: Amanda Poluck
This class is suitable for dogs who have finished their Novice title and have working knowledge of the Advanced and Excellent CARO Signs. Versatility uses the same signs as Novice but with the dogs heeling on the right. There are also new signs to allow for the switching of heeling sides while making your way around the course. Dogs can compete at the Versatility level once they have completed their Novice title.

Rally Skills class - HEELING
Class Times & Dates
Start Time: 10am
Dates: May 4, 11, 25 and June 1. No class on May 18.

No matter the obedience type sports you choose, having your dog move with you throughout the course is important. During this class, we will focus on building a formal heel from the ground up. Class will cover things like turns, pace changes and footwork.
Teams who already have some components of heelwork can join in to continue adding on to their understanding or troubleshoot any issues they may be facing.

CARO Rally polishing

Our Rally Obedience Polishing class is for students who have learned at least all of the Novice signs are ready to practice course work. We will create a new course each evening for practicing and will focus on fine tuning the tougher elements of Rally Obedience. The course will be suitable for all levels Novice through Excellent but knowledge of these signs past Novice is not a requirement. This class can be repeated by students for new courses on an ongoing basis.

CARO COURSE PRACTICE DROP-INS

Dates: May 25, June 1 and 8.

Come out and practice on a competition rally course to prepare for your next trial. Each hour will feature a CARO Competition Course at the level noted, you can sign up for each level and night individually. Sign ups are limited for each course to ensure that each registered handler can have a minimum of 2 runs through the course. Timeslots with 2 levels will have signs at each station that are applicable to each level. There will be a 5 minute walk through at the beginning of each practice hour for the handlers to walk and learn the course. Only the dog doing the course practice will be allowed in the building, all other dogs will be benched in the owner's vehicles.
